Monument description : Church of the Annunziata
The monument is located in comune di Airola in provincia di Benevento.
The church was built between the 14th and 15th centuries and is characterised by a Latin cross base with three naves. Originally, this church must have been a small chapel, damaged in the 1460 siege of Ferrante I by Alfonso della Leonessa.
Outside the building is the bell tower. The latter was finalised in 1755 by Felice Bottiglieri and is 35 metres high.
Many painters and sculptors have contributed to the various works inside the building. For example: Pietro Negroni, Francesco De Mura and Francesco Curia.
