The village is located on the slopes of Mount Taburno and its economy is mainly based on agriculture.
Local products include cereals, wheat, oil, wine, mulberries, corn and pulses.
Archaeological findings prove the existence of the first settlement since pre-Roman times.
The first document mentioning ‘Bucianus’ dates back to 1326. An ancient hamlet in nearby Airola followed its fate until the end of the feudal system: Bucciano became an autonomous municipality after the Unification of Italy, joining the province of Benevento.
Today, the population of Bucciano is around 2000 inhabitants.
