Discover the municipality of Campoli del Monte Taburno
The town of Campoli del Monte Taburno is located at 23 km of Benevento and is located at an altitude of 439 meters.The symbol of the city is the apex of the mount on a blue background. At the top of the mount, three silver stars and a silver band with ‘CAM’ written in black between two blue stars.
The historical information regarding the origin of the town belongs to the Norman period. Situated at the foot of Mount Taburno, the agriculturally developed village is immersed in a suggestive environment composed of forests. It is in a strategic position to visit the Taburno located at 1393 metres and the Camposauro located at 1388 metres.
The settlement arose after the earthquake of 1456 when the residents of the ‘sala’ district of Cacciano integrated into a hamlet in the locality formerly known as ‘Camporum’.
Historically, it was a fief of the Della Leonessa family, after receiving it from the Angioini family in the 14th century, then passed to the Carafa, the D’Avalos Aquino, the Carocciolo and finally the de Capua. The territory was owned by the latter until 1806, when the feudal system was boycotted and abandoned.
Today, Campoli del Monte Taburno has a population of around 1,500 inhabitants and local production consists mainly of vines, olives, orchards and wine.

From Rome: take the A1 motorway, exit Caianello and continue in direction of Benevento. Then follow the state road 7 Appia (direction Montesarchio – Caserta). At the fork, follow in direction of Apollosa and continue to Campoli del Monte Taburno.
From Naples – Caserta: take the A1 motorway, exit Caserta Sud – Maddaloni. Then follow the Appia state road 7 (direction Montesarchio – Benevento). At Montesarchio follow the direction to Campoli del Monte Taburno.
From Salerno – Avellino: take the A16 motorway, exit Benevento. Then follow the state road 7 Appia (direction Montesarchio – Caserta). At the intersection, follow in direction of Apollosa and of Campoli del Monte Taburno.
From Bari: take the A16 motorway, exit Benevento. Then follow the state road 7 Appia (direction Montesarchio – Caserta). At the junction, follow in direction of Apollosa and follow the directions to Campoli del Monte Taburno.
