Discover the municipality of Casalduni
The town of Casalduni is located at 24 km of Benevento and is located at an altitude of 300 meters.Casalduni is located in an area rich in plantations of olive trees, vines and chestnut trees.
The etymology of the name would seem to refer to its nature as Casale, land belonging to churches or monasteries.
The town originated in Norman times. It was owned by the Angevins, who named the town ‘Casal-di-uni’ (Casale-of-one).
Later, the territory was sold to important families of the Neapolitan nobility and came under the ownership of the Caracciolo and Carafa families.
After the feudal era, it was incorporated into Molise from 1811 and finally aggregated to Benevento after the unification of Italy.
Between 1850 and 1930, Casalduni reached its highest population density with more than 3,000 inhabitants. During this period, the town became an important commercial centre.
Various natural disasters destroyed the town several times, including the earthquakes of 1688, 1962 and 1980.
Today, Casalduni has a population of around 1300 inhabitants.

From Pescara: take the A14 motorway, exit Termoli and continue in direction of Boiano – Benevento. Follow in direction Caianello, exit Ponte and continue towards Casalduni.
From Rome: take the A1 motorway, exit Caianello. Follow in direction of Benevento, exit Ponte and continue in direction Casalduni.
From Naples – Caserta: take the A1 motorway, exit Caserta Sud – Maddaloni and then Fondo Valle Isclero. On the Benevento – Caianello’s road, follow the direction for Benevento and take the Ponte’s exit. Continue in direction of Casalduni.
From Salerno – Avellino: take the A16 motorway, exit Benevento. Follow the direction of Caianello, take the Ponte’s exit and continue towards Casalduni.
From Bari: take the A16 motorway, exit Benevento. Follow in the direction Caianello, exit Ponte and continue towards Casalduni.
