Discover the municipality of Reino

The town of Reino is located at 26 km of Benevento and is located at an altitude of 390 meters.

The municipality is located along the Reinello stream, in the Campano appendix, and has about 1100 inhabitants.

Before arriving at its present name, several versions were named from ‘Regina’, passed to ‘Regino’, ‘Resino’ and finally to ‘Reino’.

The village, founded in the early Middle Ages, was a feud of the Della Marra family and later of the Carafa family.
After the abolition of the feudal system, it became part of the Principato Ultra until 1816; from 1816 to 1861, it was part of the province of Campobasso, and later to that of Benevento.

The municipality was severely damaged by the earthquake of 1962.

From Pescara: take the A14 motorway, exit Termoli. Continue to Boiano – Benevento, take Strada Statale 212 towards Pietrelcina, Pesco Sannita and finally Reino.

From Rome: take the A1 motorway, exit at Caianello and continue in direction of Benevento. Take State Road 212 towards Pietrelcina, Pesco Sannita and finally Reino.

From Naples – Caserta: take the A1 motorway, exit Caserta Sud-Maddaloni, then Montesarchio and Benevento. Take State Road 212 towards Pietrelcina, Pesco Sannita and finally Reino.

From Salerno – Avellino: take the A16 motorway, exit Benevento. Follow the entire motorway connection, take Strada Statale 212 towards Pietrelcina, Pesco Sannita and finally Reino.

From Bari: take the A16 motorway, exit Benevento. Continue along the motorway junction, take Strada Statale 212 towards Pietrelcina, Pesco Sannita and finally Reino.
