Description of the museum : MEG – EnoGastronomic Museum
The museum is located in comune di Solopaca in the province of Benevento.
The Museum of Eno-Gastronomy (MEG), in addition to its museum features, is also a research centre divided into three main parts:
- Part One – focuses on the relationship between art and food and wine production through the display of a series of food labels (from the late 19th century to the present day). Here, the historical-artistic evolution of food design is illustrated.
- Part Two – through a didactic itinerary centred on food and wine, its history and scientific studies related to food, it analyses the evolution of counterfeiting and the various forms of illegality that are possible in the field of food. Here, various useful tips are provided to defend oneself against fraud in the sector.
- Part Three – deals with the relationship between nutrition and health, providing information on the different nutritional capacities of foods and their impact on well-being.
The museum routinely organises guided tasting workshops of wines and other typical products. Accessible to the disabled.
