Discover the municipality of Paolisi

The town of Paolisi is located at 27 km of Benevento and is located at an altitude of 270 meters.

The municipality is located at the foot of Mount Paraturo, on the left bank of the Isclero river and bordering the province of Avellino and the province of Naples.

The village has been inhabited since ancient times, but certain information dates back to the Longobard period.

Paolisi followed the feudal fortunes of Arpaia and belonged to the Stendardo, Boffa, Della Leonessa, Guevara, Carafa and Caracciolo families, later becoming part of the province of Principato Ultra in 1809 and province of Benevento after the Unification of Italy.

Today, the municipality has about 2000 inhabitants. The town centre is characterised by numerous 17th/ 18th century buildings. Local production consists mainly of cereals, fruit, poplar groves and chestnuts. There are also numerous artisan activities.

How to get to Paolisi ?

From Pescara: take the A14 motorway, exit Termoli and continue in direction of Boiano-Benevento. Afterwards, continue on the Statale 7 Appia road in direction of Caserta, after Montesarchio follow in direction of Paolisi.

From Rome: take the A1 motorway, exit at Caianello and continue in direction of Benevento. Then continue on the Statale 7 Appia road in direction of Caserta, after Montesarchio follow in direction of Paolisi.

From Naples – Caserta: take the A1 motorway, exit Caserta Sud-Maddaloni. Then continue on SS 7 Appia road in direction of Benevento, once you have passed the municipality of Arpaia follow in direction of Paolisi.

From Salerno – Avellino: take the A16 motorway, exit Benevento. Afterwards, continue on State Road 7 Appia in direction of Caserta. Once past the town of Montesarchio, follow in direction of Paolisi.

From Bari: take the A16 motorway, exit Benevento. Then continue on the Statale 7 Appia road in direction of Caserta. Once you have passed the town of Montesarchio, follow in direction of Paolisi.
