Discover the municipality of Castelpagano
The town of Castelpagano is located at 44 km of Benevento and is located at an altitude of 617 meters.Castelpagano is located on the border with Molise, in the northern part of the province of Benevento.
Castelpagano is a small centre with a strong agricultural economy, of medieval origin, although some finds from Roman times indicate the existence of an ancient urban settlement.
The feud belonged first to the county of Buonalbergo, then to the county of Civitate.
In the early Middle Ages it was under the rule of the Angevins and later became the property of the De Caude, Del Balzo, Momile and Coppola families.
It became part of Campobasso in 1809 and was united with Benevento in 1861.
Today, the municipality has about 1400 inhabitants.

From Pescara: take the A14 motorway, exit Termoli and continue in direction of Boiano – Benevento. Continue on SS 88 in direction of Campobasso and exit at Santa Croce del Sannio. Once through the municipality of Santa Croce del Sannio, continue towards Castelpagano.
From Rome: take the A1 motorway, exit Caianello and continue in direction of Benevento. Then take the SS. 88 in direction of Campobasso and exit at Santa Croce del Sannio. Once through the municipality of Santa Croce del Sannio, continue towards Castelpagano.
From Naples – Caserta: take the A1 motorway, exit at Caserta Sud – Maddaloni, Montesarchio and then Benevento. Continue on the SS 88 in direction of Campobasso and exit at Santa Croce del Sannio. Once through the municipality of Santa Croce del Sannio, continue towards Castelpagano.
From Salerno – Avellino: take the A16 motorway, exit Benevento. Stay on the motorway junction and exit at “Benevento sud”. Continue on the SS. 88 in direction of Campobasso and exit at Santa Croce del Sannio. Once through the municipality of Santa Croce del Sannio, continue towards Castelpagano.
From Bari: take the A16 motorway, exit Benevento. Stay on the motorway junction and exit at ‘Benevento sud’. Continue on the SS 88 in direction of Campobasso and exit at Santa Croce del Sannio. Once through the municipality of Santa Croce del Sannio, continue towards Castelpagano.
