Description of the museum : Museum of Folk Arts and Traditions

The museum is located in comune di Fragneto Monforte in the province of Benevento.

The museum collects objects and photos that document the arts and crafts of the area and reconstruct old family environments.

The material (around 1,300 items) is displayed in 12 rooms, divided into the following sections:

• Agricultural civilisation Ancient Tools; in which tools for packaging, tools for processing and storing oil, wine and grain are exhibited.
• Arts and Crafts; in which carpentry tools, shoemakers, hairdressers, spinners and weavers, building construction, watchmakers are exhibited.
• Living environments; in which costumes, bedrooms, traditional kitchens are exhibited – Communications curiosities; in this section communication tools and media, electrical and computer equipment, the video library, a collection of various printed materials are exhibited.

Visits to the Museum of Art and Popular Traditions include the St Nicholas Historical Museum and the Takkarata.
